The Future of Hillsdale Mall & Our City

As you know by now - San Mateo is facing one of the biggest redevelopment projects in its history. On Monday, November 3 at 7 p.m. the San Mateo City Council will hold a study session to review this massive project. Let’s make sure the Hillsdale Mall redevelopment reflects the needs and values of our community. Your voice matters.

Here are some key concerns to consider: 1) Traffic & Infrastructure 2) Retail Choices and Economic Viability 3) Neighborhood Character 4) Sufficient Public Benefits

This project is too important to watch from the sidelines! Attend the Study Session - Monday, November 3, 2025 – 7:00 PM at the City Hall Council Chambers, 330 W. 20th Avenue. ​

Member Meetings are held at least 4 times annually, with those dates typically being the third Tuesday of the announced months from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Any variation will be noted in your newsletters.  In 2025 our goal is for in-person meetings, but from time to time we will still host meetings via Zoom when necessary. (Note: We typically do not host meetings in August or December.)

Between newsletters, we provide updates on our Beresford Hillsdale Neighborhood
Association Facebook page. It’s a great place where we’ve recently shared videos of
historic San Mateo, including a walking tour event, updates and news by the police
department, tips for pets, clubs to join, book swaps, events downtown and more! Search
